Terms and Conditions

Our basic terms and conditions are quite simple (detailed terms of service can be found here):

1. This site is currently in beta, please use it gently.

2. We ask that you refrain from pinging more than once every 15 seconds(*). And that you refrain from refreshing the front door, or any RSS or XML feeds more than once every 60 seconds(*).

   If you are a photo site, or other site that would like to ping more often, please contact us.

   (*) Please note: these numbers are subject to change as we see how the service performs under load.

3. One of the things we all know about photos and video on the internet is that a lot of it is adult in nature. I'm no prude, but I would like to be able to show the site to my two boys, ages 4 and 8, without having to wonder what's going to show up on the non-adult front door. Therefore, we have made it possible for you to label your ping as "adult=false" or "adult=true". You must use this flag correctly, so that we can segregate photos and videos in an age appropriate manner.

4. Misuse of PhotoPing.com in the form of excessive pings, mis-labeled pings (e.g. adult content that is not marked as such), etc., may result in the black-listing of individual ip addresses, ip blocks, or individual domains from the service. Of course we hope that everyone will play nice so we don't have to black-list anyone.

5. We have day jobs, so please don't do things that will result in us having to spend time cleaning up misuse, rather than working on new features.
